1. Evacuate the area and make sure you are in a safe location.
2. If you are trapped by debris, immediately signal for help using your emergency whistle. 3. If you do not have an emergency whistle with you, knock loudly on any surface or use any material that can draw attention to you. 4. As you are trapped, make sure to protect your eyes, mouth and nose from dust particles. 5. If you are already safe or are not trapped at all in the first place, check yourself for any injuries. 6. If you are injured, apply the proper treatment to the specific injury. 7. For bleeding injuries or deep wounds, put direct pressure on the wound. 8. Clean the wound with a sanitized gauze or cloth, if available. 9. Once you are okay, look around and see if anyone needs help. 10. If anyone else is bleeding, apply steps 7 and 8 to them. 11. If a person is not breathing, administer rescue breathing. 12. If a person lacks pulse, administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation. 13. If having difficulty breathing, grab a cloth and soak it in water, use it as a mouth and nose covering for oxygen source. 14. If experiencing discomfort in motion due to sprain, elevate foot and put pressure with ice pack or anything cold. 15. If you are not capable of performing any of the aforementioned actions, call for medical assistance instead. |
